Domestic gas reservation

Summary of a September 2026 submission on the domestic gas reservation exposure drafts. The submission document is not published. It is short on purpose, and it points at the three companion submissions.

The submission supports reserving gas for domestic use, and says a reservation manages a fossil resource. It does not build a renewable one. The reservation should stay distinct from renewable-gas pricing. A levy or code change should not become another ceiling on new renewable-gas producers. East-coast prices remain tied to export netback; holding back some exports does not cut that tether. Gaseous renewable gas should not be left out of Commonwealth support that is written only for liquids.

This is a summary. It is not the submission.
