About

Biochar, from empty fruit bunches, shells, and fibre

BioJejak follows empty fruit bunches, shells, and fibre from the heap to the kiln. Each pile is tagged, the kiln batch is scanned, and the char carries its source and its fixed-carbon test. The same batch goes back under the palms as a soil amendment, or leaves on a truck as briquettes for a steelworks. The purpose is char a buyer can trace to the residues that were heated.

See the technology note on biochar, and the briefings on soil amendment and briquettes for European steel.
