Commissioning

Commissioning takes a built plant from mechanical completion to stable operation: leak tests, instrument checks, seeding the biology, and the first runs against the design load. A biological plant does not reach its design gas rate on day one. The loop checks and the trip tests that have to pass before gas is introduced are automation commissioning.
The record of that startup — flows, gas quality, oxygen demand in and out — is what a later operator and a later auditor will ask for.
