High-voltage distribution design

Electrical design of the site distribution for a biorefinery, as part of the plant design rather than a package added after the process is frozen. For a load over about 100 MW the distribution voltage is chosen so the cable copper stays reasonable. On the methanol plant that voltage is 132 kV across the site, stepped down to 11 kV at the local machinery areas.
The work is the transformers at each step-down, the cables at both voltages, the switchgear, and the protection that has to discriminate between a fault on a motor circuit and a fault on the site backbone. The same design connects the solar and battery supply into that backbone.
