Solar PV and battery storage

Solar array and battery containers

Solar photovoltaic generation and a battery energy storage system are the power supply for the biorefinery, not a standalone solar farm. Electrolysis, liquefaction, compression, and the rest of the plant need electricity that can come entirely from the site, or from a hybrid of on-site generation and a grid connection. The battery covers the solar day, shifts load into the evening, and holds up equipment that cannot trip when the irradiance drops.

The array and the battery connect into the plant's high-voltage site distribution. That network is a separate design: its voltage, transformers, and protection are not set by the solar layout.

This supply is part of the Sumatra bio-LNG, Malaysia green methanol, and Northern Territory sustainable aviation fuel notes, and of green ammonia and renewable diesel routes that carry their own power plant. The modelling and the electrical design are a professional service. A biomass or biogas steam boiler with a turbine is the synchronous share of the same site's baseload. Hydrogen from the electrolyser is held in compressed storage so production and site use do not have to match hour by hour.
